A gorgeous August wedding at Hotel Du Vin

When Gary and Jonny first came and talked to us about there wedding flowers..... There were so many ideas going round... With Jonny being from a very creative field and Gary a more practical one.... And both with a passion for vintage, it was lovely to combine flowers with there love for the gorgeous vintage items they bought from our own brand sold in the shop "Vintage Bird" started by Pauline a few years ago..... There was a very natural overal feel with Gary and Jonny being able to keep all the lovely vintage finds....

The ceremony took place on the Brighton Band stand we created a moss runner for the service table design to sit on. The incorporation of succulents ran through the whole design.

The buttonholes and Bella, Gary and Jonny's french bulldog and ring bearer for the day all had lovely succulents in there flowers.

The feathers co-ordinated with the boys feather bow ties....

For Bella to carry the rings in....

Then on to the venue, below is just a selection of the tables each table had its own design, set onto the moss bases.

Beautiful 50s

I had the nicest time working with Dani and Luke on there Wedding Flowers they both have a very 40s/50s vibe in there everyday life so I just knew how amazing they would both look... Luke was so excited about his suit he had made... And dani wanted a good splash of color with the flowers... And we used succulents for the buttonholes.... See what you think x x

Florian Flower School travels .....

This week we travelled to a lovely home, to meet the PTA of Lancing collage, who had asked us if we could arrange a floristry lesson to prepare then to arrange designs for there annual spring ball...

We had some fun.... The theme for the Summer Ball is 1920s glamour.... So with elegant tall calla Lily's ..feathers and beads it was glamour all the way....

Carrie did a short demonstration then everyone was hands on.... Really great fun thank you ladies ....

Carnations used with style in thus wedding

Amy was very nervous about her choice of wedding flowers, she had wanted purple as her colour and a modern look, but she really wanted part of her grandmother in the flowers and Carnations had been her very favorite flowers and evoked such memories of her grandmother....

Carnations have taken an awful lot of flack due to super markets and garage forecourts using hem as a filler flower.... When you look at the carnation it is such a beautiful flower and now comes in some lovely new colours..... Here we used the purple haze to contrast beautifully with the other purple flowers chosen, Amy was so delighted with the result as were we.....

Brides bouquet

And when we talked about the bridesmaids we decided a cluster of the carnations with the folded aspidistra would be the perfect compliment to Amy's bouquet......
